Room 25 homework guidelines. Each week please complete: Spelling Practise and test words Monday-Thursday. Parents please tick columns as you test your child. If children are getting all words for the week correct, the master list for their spelling book is glued in the back of the homework book. Feel free to choose some trickier words from the list to test as well. At the end of each term we do a test of a selection of all these words. If your child gets 80% or higher on this test they will go up a book. Math We are beginning the year by using grids to practise basic facts. There is one grid a night for your child to complete. At school we are also using grids. The children have 5 minutes to complete a grid. They then set goals on improving their score/the time they take to complete a grid. Could you please mark the grids each night with your child so they can set a goal for the next day. As the term and year progresses the math activities at home will change. Reading Please encourage your child to read for 15+ minutes per day. Your child will need to fill in their reading log daily. Please sign the homework page each week.
